Hyderabad is the capital city of Andhra pradesh in India. Hyderabad also called as The City of Nizams. Hyderabad and Secunderabad are the twin cities , separated by the Hussain Sagar. Hyderabad It is now a hub of Information Technology, ITES(BPO) and biotechnology . Hyderabadi Biryani is popular cuisine in India.

Hyderabad, being Capital city is well connected by Road and Rail from all major cities in India. Hyderabad has international airport. So its well connected thro air.

Places of Interest:

Charminar:
Charminar is the signature of Hyderabad as the Taj Mahal is of Agra. Mohammed Quli Qutb Shah, the founder of Hyderabad, built Charminar in 1591. There are four minarets of almost 50m height. The monument is illuminated in the evenings.

Hussian Sagar: A man made lake that separates the twin cities of Hyderabad and Secunderabad. Boating and water sports are a regular feature in the Hussainsagar. One of the World’s tallest monolithic statues of the Buddha stands in the middle of the lake.

Ramoji Film City
: Ramoji Film City on the outskirts of Hyderabad offers facilities to produce any kind of movie.it is the world’s largest integrated film studio complex, at nearly 2,000 acres . It is also one of Asia’s most popular tourism and recreation centres. Visitors too can go round in conducted tours.

Gloconda Fort: Golconda is one of the famous forts of India.

Lumbini Park:
This is one of the popular parks in the city. The main attraction of this park was the Musical fountain. Boating facilities are also available to give you a closer glimpse of the Buddha.

You can find many forts, Palaces, Museums, Parks and Gardens in this city. You can also find Theme parks like Ocean Park, Snow World and Mount Opera.


Andhra - Visakhapatnam

Visakhapatnam popularly known as Vizag is a coastal city of Andhra Pradesh in India. Built Along The Seashore Of The Bay Of Bengal. It is referred to as the "City of Destiny". Vizag is the HQ of Eastern Naval Command of the Indian Navy. It has the only natural harbour on the eastern coast of India.

Kailasagiri

Kailasagiri is a picturesque hill over looking the sea has been developed into a lush green park. A rope way journey from foot hill to the mountains is a wonderful experience and a you can get a good view of the sea.

Parks like Vuda Park, Lumbini Park, Sivaji Park are some the beautiful parks in Vizag.

ARAKU VALLEY

Araku Valley is about 115 Km. from Visakhapatnam lying on the top of the eastern ghats. The area of the valley is roughly 36 Sq.Kms. and the altitude is between 600 and 900 meters above sea level. The entire area is inhabited by aboriginal tribes and attracts visitors from all over the country. The journey to Araku Valley on the ghat road with thick forests on either side is itself interesting and thrilling. The Ananthagiri hills on the way to Araku Valley are famous for coffee plantation. Araku Valley has an exploratory-cum demonstration farm which is about 20 hectares in extent a Government orchard and a Government silk farm with mulbery gardens. Cocoons from the silk farm are reeled in the farm, and the silk yarn and waste are sent to Hindupur. The beautiful Araku Valley with its bracing climate, orchards and the Ananthagiri ghats, which present an enchanting view to the visitors, is attracting tourists not only from all parts of India also from abroad as there are good communication and halting facilities. The natural beauty of this valley is enhanced by the tribal people who abound here with their own folklore and traditions. Dhimsa Dance is a unique feature of the tribes of Araku, which is being organised in the nights of every Saturday and Sunday for entertaining tourists. There is a railway station at Araku on D.B.K. line passing through dozens of tunnels from Ananthagiri Mandal villages onwards to Araku is a thrilling experience. An habitat museum which reveals the entire tribal culture and an Horticulture nursery cum training centre at Padmapuram and a waterfall at Ranajilleda is worth seeing at Araku.

BORRA CAVES

Borra caves being the natural formation in Eastern ghats is situated in Ananthagiri Mandal at a distance of 100 Kms. from Visakhapatnam. The Dandakaranya BalengiriKirbur railway line passes through this village and there is Railway station at “Borra Caves”. The caves popularly known as Borra Caves have geological and Historical importance. Deep in the caves there is Sivalingam over which the water drips from above which is said to be the origin of the river Gosthani. The river gosthani flowing from these caves with natural roaring sounds is a beautiful sight to enjoy. These caves were beautifully electrified and illuminated and a large number of tourists including foreigners are visiting every day. The crystal white calcium stones are also seen in various forms like a hooded serpent, different human shapes such as Narada with his tumbura, Lord Brahma, Radha Krishna and Nandi. Mica, Apatite, Calcite, limestone, Red and Yellow ochare, rock phosphate vermiculate, graphite quartz and some of the minerals are found in and around Borra Caves.

Trivandrum is the capital of Kerala. The highlands on the Western Ghats, a long shorline, with internationally renowned beaches, historic monuments, backwater stretches and a rich cultural heritage make this district a much sought after tourist destination.

How to reach:

Trivandrum is well connected by rail and road, and international airport 6 kms from the city.

Kovalam Beach - Kovalam is Internationally renowned Beach Resort has been a favourite haunt of tourists. Kovalam consists of three adjacent crescent beaches, the Lighthouse beach, is the most popular.

Kuthiramalika Palace Museum & The Napier Museum.

Kanyakumari - Kanyakumari also know as Cape Comorin is the southern tip of india where the three seas the bay of bengal, the arabian sea and the indian ocean meet. It is one of the most popular tourist spots in the country. Vivekananda Rock Memorial is a popular tourist spot.

Kerala - Trichur

Trichur is also called cultural capital of Kerala. Trichur is famed for its pooram festival.

How to reach:

Trichur is well connected by rail and road and it is an important railhead of Southern Railways.
The nearest International Airport. Nedumbassery (58km).

Places of Interest:

Athirapally and Vazhachal Waterfalls: This is a beautiful waterfall located near the Sholayar forest range. Athirapally waterfall is a scenic beauty and is of 80 feet high.


Punnathur Kotta: This is a place where the temple elephants are taken care of, almost 40 of them.


You can also find a good number of temples and pil
grim center like Guruvayur which is an important pilgrimage center in India.

Kerala - Thekkady

Thekkady is in Idukki district of Kerala, and is the location of the Periyar National Park which is an important tourist attraction near to Kumily town. This park is famous for its dense evergreen forest. Here you can find wildlife and birds. The Periyar Wild Life Sanctuary was declared a Tiger Reserve. You can find herds of Elephants, Deer, Sambar, Tigers and many more. Around 250 different species of birds like the Kingfisher, Raptor, Hornbill, Woodpecker can also be seen here.This wildlife sanctuary spread across 777 Sqkms. There is an artificial lake formed by the Mullaperiyar Dam across the Periyar river. A boat cruise on the lake is a great way to watch the wildlife.


How to reach:

The nearest railwaystation is Kottayam, from there you have to catch a bus to Kumily, the journey is around 4 hrs drive(120 kms). The nearest airport is Cochin, which is around 200 kms [5 hrs drive] away.
You can find economy class places to stay in Kumily. Thekkady is 10 min drive from kumily.

Places of Interest:

Periyar National park: Wildlife and Bird sanctuary. Boating is the only way to view the wildlife. Boating facility is available in the Morning and Evening. The best time to watch wildlife is at morning 7am or Evening 4pm.

Trekking: Trekking is available, and its a wonderful way to view the wildlife. 1 day to 4 day trekking with overnight camping is also available.

Spice Garden: You can find lot of Spice gardens. Different kinds of spices and plantation can be found here.

Tea Garden and Tea Factory: You can find lot of tea garden, and you can get permission to enter into tea factory to see how the tea leaves turn into different kind and quality of tea.

Kerala - Silent Valley

Silent Valley National Park is located in the Nilgiri Hills in Palakkad district of Kerala. This valley occupies almost 90 sq kms.
The park is also known for the rare and unique herbs and plants that grow here, as well as the wildlife found in the Silent Valley, which include elephants, tigers, leopards, wild boar, sambhar, gaur and the endangered lion-tailed macaque. There are also a number of snake.

How to reach:
Its a 4 hour journey from Pallakad city. You can get a bus to Mannarkkad from pallakad city, get down at mannarkkad and get a bus which goes to Mukkali, its a 40km journey. From Mukkali you have to get the permission from wildlife department. You can reach Silent valley only by local jeeps. They'll charge Rs.600 per trip. The forest department provides guides. Its a 20km journey by jeep through the muddy and rocky roads. You'll find thick forest during the journey. Exciting treks are also organised by the authorities but prior permission needs to be taken from the forest department.

Kerala - Munnar

Munnar is beautiful hillstation located in Idukki district of Kerala in the southern part of India. Munnar is an important tourist spot of kerala. Munnar is surrounded by vast jungles and remains wet and cold during most of the year, there are in fact three rivers - Madupetti, Nallathanni and Periavaru which flow through this town. The tea plantations and holiday facilities make this a popular hill station.

Rajamalai National Park:
Here you can some of the endangered species, birds and wildlife. Anamudi Peak in this park is the highest peak (2695 m) south of the Himalayas. This is an ideal place for trekking. All the facilities are provided here and tourists are allowed to go on foot up to Anamudi.

Mattupetti Dam - This is a popular picnic spot, boating facilities are available here.

Echo Point - Echo point is located 15km from Munnar. It is a small lake set amidst rolling hills. Every loud call made from a spot on the lake is returned manifold by the echo from the surrounding hills.

Cochin is an important city in the district of Ernakulam.

Places of Interest:

Chinese Fishing Nets
: Fishing is an important commercial activity in Cochin, near the cochin harbour you can see large Chinese fishing nets. This is a beautiful sight.

Willingdon Island: Cochin is one of the natural harbours in the world.
Willingdon Island is a man made one which was formed with materials dredged while deepening the Cochin Port and channel, It is the seat of the harbour and cochin Port Trust.


Dutch Palace: Dutch palace was originally built by the Portuguese and presented to the Maharaja of Cochin in 1555. Dutch in 1663 did some extension work and carried out some repairs and changed its name as Dutch palace.

Jewish synagogue: The Jewish Synagogue was built in 1568. The great Scrolls of the Old Testament, the copper plates containing the privileges granted by the cochin ruler to the Jewish community at the Synagogue are of great interest.

Fort Cochin : Fort cochin is believed to be the first church built by the Europeans in India. The body of Vasco Da Gama was buried here. You can also find some beautiful churches and paintings.

Alleppy also called as Alappuzha in malayalam is an important district of kerala of southern India. Alleppy is a beautiful town with picturesque backwaters, beaches and house boats. Alleppey is the hub for backwater tourism in Kerala. Visitors can enjoy ride on House boats on backwaters which are available on hire on a daily basis as well as for longer duration. These house boats in general have 2-3 bed rooms and attached bath rooms most of the boats have the bedrooms fitted with airconditioners. Normally a trip includes kerala dishes. The district has a network of rivers,canals and backwaters. Manimala, Pampa and Achancovil are the major rivers, Vembanad Lake, Kayamkulam Lake are the major backwaters.

Places of interest:

1. Pathiramanal: This little island on the backwaters is a favourite haunt of hundred of rare migratory birds from different parts of the world. The island lies between Thaneermukkom and Kumarakom, and is accessable only by boat.

2.Champakulam : The water logged village is also the place of oldest angadi (market) known as Kalloorkkadu angadi. The St. Mary Forane Church built in 427 A D is another major attraction famous for its beautiful mural paintings for both tourists and believers. In Champakulam you can see Nadubhagum and Champakulam snake boats which take part in the annual snake boat races.

3. Krishnapuram Palace:
This palace museum houses antique sculptures, paintings and bronzes.
